Boss DS-1

If you've never played on one of these you've been living under a rock!  For SEVERAL years these have been the standard distortion pedal that everybody knows and loves.  BUT...  People seem to grow tired of them quickly or have a "meh, it's alright" impression from the start.  Well, I finish Boss's work for them here.  They definitely had a great start on a distortion circuit, it just needs a few tweaks to be a great pedal.  Once modded these can rival nearly any distortion pedal available, even boutique pedals!  Here's the options:

The "11" mod
Name inspired by Spinal Tap...  "This one goes to 11!!!"  I named it that because I think it sounds like an old Marshall cranked up to... not 10... 11!!!  Hardly anything sounds as good as an old Marshall cranked to its full potential!  This mod is my take on getting that tone at any volume, through nearly any decent amp, out of a DS-1.  Prepare to rock!

Behemoth Mod
Behemoth [bi-hee-muhth] = any creature or thing of monstrous size or power.

This is what I'm talking about!  I believe this to be one of the best sounding distortions you'll hear anywhere!  To me it sounds better than a good percentage of true tube distortions that you hear from real amps.  It's almost a complete reworking of the circuit!  I change 17 stock parts and add some of my own!  Ever heard a cranked Mesa and a cranked Marshall mixed together on the same stage?  That heavenly tone would be my best description of how this mod sounds!

Other Options
Diode Switch:  Gives you two different flavors of clipping via a tiny switch mounted on the face of your pedal.  Flipped one way you will have more available distortion and a very warm tube-like tone.  Flipped the other way decreases distortion a tiny bit but makes the pedal bigger and louder.  Add $15 to the total price of the mods for this option.

Prices (includes US shipping):
The "11" mod: $35
The Behemoth Mod: $45
I also offer new pedals already modded!  Add $45 to the price of the mods for this option.
